WHAT IS THE MOST UNIQUE MITZVAH YOU’VE EVER DONE?

There’s been many but (2) that stand out are the iTwins B’nei Mitzvah we designed at the W New York Hotel. The kids loved candy and music so we custom designed music notes made out of various candies such as Skittles, M&M’s and Jelly Beans. We also created oversized iPods out of Starburst.

A second one was a Graffiti Party Bat Mitzvah at the W New York Hotel where we created a custom designed 50′ Long x 25′ High interactive video wall which depicted various Graffiti drawings created by the birthday girl! In addition, we created fun tablescapes consisting of one style groupings of flowers in various colors adorned with a fun disco ball.

WHAT MITZVAH TRENDS DO YOU ANTICIPATE FOR 2016?

A mitzvah entrance video is the newest trend in the industry.  Kids are now designing a cool film or music video inspired entrance video which replaces the MC from introducing them as they enter their party.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A FIRST TIME MITZVAH PARENT/FAMILY?

To avoid the stress of planning and producing the mitzvah, we strongly suggest they hire an event producer that will eliminate the anxiety as opposed to DIY.  There are simply too many elements for someone who isn’t in the profession.

It is all going to turn out great. We’ve worked with many first time parents who are more inclined to panic and worry, more so than second time mitzvah parents.  It’s important to express concerns and trust the experts you hired are there for you, midnight calls, and all.  Ultimately the mitzvah they’re planning will go on without a hitch.
WHAT IS THE TOUGHEST PART OF PLANNING A MITZVAH AND HOW DO WE OVERCOME IT?
We take security and child safety very seriously so, for us, one of the toughest parts of planning a mitzvah is setting up security and safety services to ensure mitzvah guests, especially kids, have an enjoyable time. Making sure youths are transported from point A to point B safely is our priority. It’s really important not only for the young guests but the hosts of the mitzvah are ultimately responsible for anything that goes wrong to minors in attendance.

WHAT ARE SOME FUN GIVEAWAYS THAT GUESTS HAVE ENJOYED AT A MITZVAH?
We always try to guide our clients to consider giveaway items that are useful. For instance, we once had comfy traveling blankets designed with the event’s mitzvah logo as a giveaway. The mini speakers compatible with smartphones were fun for one mitzvah and were a favorite.
WHAT ARE THE TOP 5 MUST HAVES AT A MITZVAH?
1) Great DJ and entertainment.
2) Fun and innovative kids games
3) Fun food especially a nice fare for the kids as they can be to busy enjoying each other to eat, believe it or not. Food trucks, smoothie bars and taco bars are always a hit.
4) Innovative decor! Hire an event designer who will take your theme and really bring it to life and who can use floral elements in a creative way.
5) A cool dance floor. It’s where adults and kids meet, anyway!

HOW DO WE STAY ORGANIZED WHILE PLANNING OUR MITZVAH?
At MWD Lifestyles we are utterly attached to the checklist.  We live by it.  Checklists ensure bases are always covered and are especially important for day-of communication and check-in process with staffing.
WHAT MAKES FOR A GREAT VENUE AND HOW DO WE DECIDE WHICH VENUE IS RIGHT FOR US?

It’s best to avoid feeling crowded.  Selecting a venue that can house at least 50 more guests than are on the guest list is important as space is of the essence. Choosing a venue that can accommodate all guests, kids and adults, with little room to breathe is in our mitzvah secret sauce.

WHAT ARE THE KEY COMPONENTS OF MAKING MY MITZVAH MEMORABLE FOR MY FAMILY AND GUESTS?

Make sure to honor family and friends in the montage. Also, giving close family and friends VIP seating makes them feel special. Seating closest to the dance floor is always good!

WHAT ARE THE BEST WAYS TO BRING ENERGY AND EXCITEMENT TO MY MITZVAH PARTY?
Hire an entertainment company who has amazing dancers and hype persons. They always get the party started. The MC should also be great!

WHAT ARE THE BEST WAYS TO DESIGN MY FLOOR PLAN?

You should always be sure to separate the kids and adults but also including an element that will anchor the room.

WHAT KINDS OF ENTERTAINMENT ARE THE BEST IN ENGAGING BOTH KIDS AND ADULTS?

Musical performances are always a great way to entertain both kids and adults
