We love pre-mitzvah shoots! This is a great way for your family to get comfortable with your photographer before the big day in addition to some fabulous shots to display.
The vibe is usually laid back and fun! Most mitzvah kids choose a few outfits that best reflect their personality and hobbies. Have fun with location ideas, and break out of your comfort zone. Are you a ballerina? Rock the pointes on pavement. Love to fish? Hook the line at a nearby creek.
We recommend knowing the purpose of the photos in order to use your time wisely. If you’re taking photos for the mitzvah announcement; your photographer will carve out some time to focus on getting the perfect shot! If the shoot is based on the mitzvah theme; you’ll need to pre-plan location and timing with your photographer to make sure you have enough coverage in multiple places and outfits.
Pre-shoot shots make great decor – sign in boards, cutouts, table designs – the mitzvah is all about the pre-teen, so why not put them everywhere!
Make sure to ask the photographer to get a great family shot as well. It’s most likely one of the few professional family photos you’ll have outside of fancy clothes. Grandma and Grandpa will love a copy for the holidays!
Most importantly, try not to stress! Be fun. Be you.
